The client who can best take advantage of my services is age 40 – 60. He or she has family income of $200,000 or more. My client is very serious about saving and investing to reach the goal that 95% of Americans have not reached, which is a level of independence and lifestyle worth the sacrifice. My client recognizes that minimizing taxes is a main issue in reaching this goal. Generally a level of growth of 8% per year is needed. My client is risk sensitive, but recognizes that having a risk versus reward of 1 unit of risk for 5 units of reward puts risk in the proper perspective. My client seeks growth to enable he or she to build a lifetime tax free income as a core asset. Management principles such as diversification, and a plan for risk control on each asset held provide an additional level of security. Generally, my client has family values, is charitable and cares a great deal about his or her family’s security and education. It is interesting that successful people usually have excellent core values.
+ What I Charge Our clients usually pay 2% per year for managed assets. Our DEGP account fee is 2.5% unless the account is very substantial. If you use Trust Company of America as a custodian, they charge only $20 per month regardless of the account size. They charge 2 cents per share for stock transactions and a $15 block trade fee which is divided by the number of participants in a trade. For example, if we purchased a 100 shares of Dupont (DD) at $75 per share and we traded for 100 people, the commission would $2.00 plus .15 or $2.15 total cost. Interactive Brokers, LLC. is our discount brokerage recommendation. They often charge $1.00 for 100 shares of stock or $1.00 for 1 option on U.S. markets. Their executions are excellent because they don’t trade through a third party trading house which give less efficient executions and kickback commissions to the broker taking the order. Some of our clients use annuities to preserve their safe monies. Some of the contracts offered sound too good to be true and so it is. We can help our clients understand the language and the net value to them so they may choose the right company and the right contract to meet their needs. 7% isn’t really 7% when you see lifetime income guarantees, because when you take the income it looks like your principle amount is high, but when you compare the monthly payout amount to other contracts you realize your company is using a less competitive payout formula. We offer fee based retirement planning. Our client might ask us to design a plan to eliminate the income gap anticipated if he lives a long life. Generally a fee of $600 or so would be negotiated in advance. No monies are paid ahead of time. We test our clients suggestions. We make suggestions. Our client chooses the final choices and a plan is developed. Our client is not expected to pay until he is 100% satisfied. He can then take the plan and execute it or we may help by filling out paperwork to put the plan in action.
+ How I Work I am an internet advisor. I offer content and information to the general public through my website, newsletters and publications. If someone one wants help to get pointed in the right direction I offer an online meeting on Gotomeeting.com. In this meeting there is no selling involved, simply interviewing each other to see if there is a fit for working together. Often there is a concern or problem that prompted the appointment. If it is a knowledge question usually I can provide the answer. If it requires research I will send the party an email with further information. If the party is interested in working with me in the development of a personal plan we will schedule an additional meeting and I will provide the participant with a modest amount of homework to begin the plan. After planning, the participant can take the information and execute the plan for themselves or we can point the way and be helpful in filling out forms etc. If a person decides to become an advisory client we help in all the details of implementing a plan including execution, daily monitoring and constant communication with our client as to changing trends and opportunities we look for in the future. We are not brokers we do not earn commissions. We are more successful by being patient in waiting to buy low and holding longer when our positions are growing. The opposite of a stockbroker. We do not benefit by using emotion to motivate a client. Quite the opposite is the case. Part of our educational process is to teach people to act in opposition to what they are feeling emotionally. Our clients have online access to their accounts daily including position reports and performance information. We offer monthly educational webinars which are recorded so our busy clients may view them at their leisure. In the webinars we visually can show our clients cycle related trends, sector analysis and global opportunities. Often we can show our client what we are looking for to enter or exit a variety of markets. We do not ever handle anyone’s money. All monies are held by a broker dealer or custodial bank. We are independent. We are our client’s advocate. Our recommended brokers and custodians are chosen because they offer the best services at the best price. Clients can ask questions by email or telephone but directed orders by clients must be by telephone. If a client asks us to help in the creation of a plan, we quote a fixed price perhaps $600. Our client asks us to test a number of ideas under consideration. We also suggest ideas. We test the usefulness of each idea and our client chooses the ones remaining for final consideration. We test these ideas for risk and to make sure the client’s income gap is likely to be closed. Finally the client makes the decisions and a plan is created. We do not ask for payment in advance and do not expect payment until our client is totally satisfied.
